The inscription appropriately appears to read "van Quine," "Van" being the name Quine was known by to those close to him. Quine and Skinner were colleagues at Harvard, and this lovely inscription captures a moment in the crossing lives of these two highly influential figures. Skinner is considered by many to be the father of behaviorism in the United States, whose influence has affected numerous avenues of clinical and theoretical psychology. Signed and inscribed by the author, B. F. (Fred) Skinner, to philosopher and logician W. V. O. Quine. 8vo 8" - 9" tall. 266 printed pages.
